Because we could not guarantee it. Domestic fares move daily and by the seat bucket; a number published here would be wrong by the time you called. Ask and you get a fare that is actually available.
Can I hold a seat without paying?
Usually for a few hours, sometimes until the next day, depending on the airline and how close the departure is. We will tell you the real deadline rather than a generic one.
